2022 Community Activities Funding

SSC is delighted to have been awarded funding from the 2022 Community Activities Fund. The club will receive €3,250 towards the Junior section’s operating and running costs. This funding is much needed and greatly appreciated at a time when all our costs are increasing.

In addition, the club has been awarded €1,962 in capital costs for external works, as part of the Community Enhancement Programme. This will part-fund the replacement of the section of uneven paving in front of the club. The Junior section of the club is now organising sailing for children with additional needs, and this work will make this area of the club more accessible to wheelchair users and other people with mobility impairments. It will also provide a level surface in front of the club where many community events are hosted.

The Community Activities Fund is managed by the Department of Rural and Community Development with Fingal allocated €301,042 in funding for groups across the county. It is administered by Local Community Development Committees (LCDCs) in each Local Authority area, and is part of the wider Community Enhancement Programme, which has funded over 8,000 projects in urban and rural communities throughout Ireland since first being launched in 2018.
