With the successful completion of the full planned 2019 Regatta racing schedule over last weekend (20/21st July) the results for each classification are below. (See https://www.facebook.com/SkerriesSailingClub/ for pictures)
Congratulations to Mermaid winner and Foynes sailors #188 Darragh Mc Cormack who stole the show with 4 first places. Well done to #131 Paddy Dillon who finished second and our own #186 Brian McNally with Valerie Cronin who finished third in a competitive field of 15 boats. Visitor David Johnston won the GP14s with our own Colman Grimes finishing second. Well done to Stan Shepherd winning the Class 1 dinghy group chased closely by the Burns family (Stuart and Graham – 2nd and 3rd respectively). Finally in the cruiser class well done to Helm’s Deep Paul Harrison and crew for winning the over all Cruiser Regatta and to Paul Hick who won the Howth to Skerries race held on the Saturday. Well done to all competitors and thanks to all the many volunteers including Race Officers Liam Dineen, Micheline Shields and Helen Ryan without whose help this great annual event would not have been possible.
