  1. Hi,

Yesterday I met one of your members at the sandyachting competition in Laytown. I live in Laytown and am looking for a club close by that caters for general dinghy sailing. I am more interested in social sailing/pottering than racing for now. I have my own dart 15 catamaran. Is there a Saturday meeting (I’m told) for fun sailing or other regular session that would cater for my needs? what is the pricing structure for membership and is it by calendar month or 12 month from joining? Also I may consider family memebership as have children generally interested in social/lessons. When does the season open/close ususally (i.e. where safety boats are around). All the best, Ben

    1. Hi Ben Yes we have a season long introductory siling experience for adults called Just Sailing. It is for members and occurs every Saturday al between 10.00 and c13.30hrs. We take new adult members (and even longer term members) out on a variety of boats, depending on weather conditions. The aim is to make people comfortable on the water. We end with a group social having coffee and cake. This is our second year running this program and it is proving very popular. We are well into our season at this time and while we do charge per calendar year it will be possible to agree a start now and continue into the 2018 season. I suggest you contact Gerry Byrne at byrnegerardf@eircom.net who coordinates the program and he will advise in more detail. Siobhan Boylan at skerriesframeworks@eircom.net will advise on membership rates. I look forward to meeting you soon in the club. Regards, Kieran Branagan – Commodore
