Junior Sailing
Skerries Sailing Club offers a variety of junior sailing programs aimed at encouraging junior sailors participation and enjoyment in sailing.
The SSC junior section, is vibrant and active and our junior sailing programs are designed not just to develop sailing skills but also to foster a love for the sport and build lifelong friendships. Starting from a young age, junior sailors typically begin sailing in Optimist boats and progress to other boats like Mirrors, Toppers, and Lasers as they grow older and gain more experience.
The courses follow the Irish Sailing Association (ISA) guidelines, offering a structured path for young sailors. Throughout the year, the club organises various training sessions, including spring training, ISA summer courses, and autumn training. These programs cater to all levels, from beginners to advanced sailors, ensuring that each child can progress at their own pace.
The ISA Summer Camps are particularly popular, running through June, July, and August. These camps are well-structured and include a range of activities that make learning to sail fun and engaging. The club also offers equipment rentals to ensure everyone has access to necessary gear.

In addition to regular training sessions, the club hosts several junior regattas and club racing series throughout the year. These events provide young sailors with the opportunity to compete in a friendly and supportive environment, further honing their skills and building confidence on the water.
