Membership Types
Individual Memberships
Ordinary Member
Offers full access to both, onshore, social, snooker, and on-the-water facilities of the club to an individual member. Designed for those who wish to take part in sailing, power-boating, cruising or racing at both club level and higher. With this type of membership your fee also covers full membership of The Irish Sailing Association (ISA) allowing you to compete in regional, national or international competitions.
You are also entitled to vote at an AGM/EGM and to go forward for election to the Committee.
Under 30s Ordinary Membership
This offers the same membership and access as an Ordinary member receives but at a reduced price for those who may be under 30years of age on 1st January of the current membership year. Your fee also includes full membership of the ISA.
You are also entitled to vote at an AGM/EGM and to go forward for election to the Committee.
Student Member
To qualify for student membership you must be in full-time education with a student card valid during the membership year (proof should be provided to the Membership Secretary via email). There is no age restriction with the membership. Your fee also includes full membership of the ISA.
You are also entitled to vote at an AGM/EGM and to go forward for election to the Committee.
Cadet Member
Cadet membership is available to anyone under 18 years on January 1st of the membership year. You will receive full cadet membership of the ISA.
Veteran Member
This is a restricted membership available only to current members who have at least 15 years continuous membership in the club. You must also be at least 66 years old on 1st January of the membership year. Your fee also includes full membership of the ISA.
You are also entitled to vote at an AGM/EGM and to go forward for election to the Committee.
Shoreside Member
This offers restricts your membership to social i.e. non-water based activities. You may use all of the facilities of the clubhouse including bar and snooker areas. You will not however be eligible to vote at AGM or EGM nor will you become a member of the ISA.
You are entitled to attend an AGM/EGM but not to vote nor can you be put forward for election to the Committee.
Overseas Member
To qualify, an applicant must be resident overseas. They are joined with the equivalent rank of Shoreside member and as such the same conditions apply regarding sailing activity and voting rights.
Life Member
The club is not open for Life Memberships at this time. You are also entitled to vote at an AGM/EGM and to go forward for election to the Committee.
Group Membership
Family Members
A family membership consists of a married or common-law couple with all of their children under the age of 18 years on January 1st or, one or both parents and all of their children under the age of 18 years on January 1st of the year of membership. In this type of membership, each parent/guardian becomes an Ordinary member and each child becomes a Cadet member. All members of the group will also become members of the ISA as part of their fee.
The adult members are also entitled to vote at an AGM/EGM and to go forward for election to the Committee.
Additional Sailing Club Fees
For those sailing members eligible to partake in water-based activities such as Club racing, Regional/ National/ International competitive events, Powerboating, Cruising etc, an additional fee will apply to your membership.
Maintenance and Safety Boat Fee
This additional fee allows the member to participate in all club-racing and all open racing events held at Skerries Sailing Club.
In addition, for those members with boats kept on moorings, members are entitled to use the Clubs punt/ water-taxi service which operates throughout the main sailing season.
The fee is 75 for the 1st adult and 25 for the 2nd adult.
A reduced fee of 25 applies to Student members.
